Condo Director Training Dashboard

Designed a dashboard to engage users while completing the mandatory training for condo directors based on feedback that the CAO website lacked guidance on how and when to complete training.

Skills: Figma, copy-writing, cross-functional collaboration

May 2024 - November 2024

Overview

I designed a progressive series of dashboards to gamify the mandatory director training with the goal of increasing completion rate by improving access to the portal and tracking progress. This product launched on Nov 1, 2024.

Problem Statement

The CAO’s website and LMS platform are not engaging users to complete their mandatory training. Users are reporting feeling lost and confused based on the materials available on the website.

Impact

🚀 Successful launch of first CAO product using features from the UI library

📅 6 month launch date met through cross-functional collaboration with dev and business team to rapidly iterate

🎓 38 successful completions of training in the first weekend after launch

Metrics on user engagement and completion rates will be gathered and updated following the launch to assess the impact of the dashboard

Progressive Enhancement of the Dashboard

  • Initial Launch

    📍 We are here

Minimal design to meet the mandated functional requirements while introducing UI library components

Initial UI design for the dashboard, featuring a banner header, three interactive content boxes, and lists of quizzes and past training
  • Priority Update

    🔜 In 1 - 2 years

Introduce a dynamic module counter to encourage users to continue training

Updated UI design for the dashboard, featuring dynamic module progress, interactive fields, and a section for training and quiz history
  • Final Design

🔜 In 3+ years after Angular Migration

Graphical representations for the progressing fields to motivate users, including weekly goals and progress

Future state UI design for the dashboard, featuring graphical representations of dynamic fields, including goals, overall progress, and quizzes

Research & ideating led us to prioritize 3 features in our design:

  1. Weekly targets and goals

  2. Graphical representation of progress

  3. Detailed outlines of the curriculum

Early Concepts that shaped the final product

  • Gamifying the visual representation of the course overview

Early concepts based on LinkedIn Learning and Codecademy. Included more goal oriented learning, streaks, and closer integration with the LMS.

Improved upon the design and incorporated it in priority update due to development time constraints

  • Learning progress page for setting clear learning goals

Created a learning path page on the CAO website to show a clear progression of lessons based on feedback that CAO didn’t set clear learning expectations and goals.

Placed on a future considerations backlog due to development constraints in CRM and with the LMS

Challenges…

  • Identifying feature priority from management, education team, development team, and users

  • Developing a design for the restrictive CRM portal that is currently being phased out while maintaining a user experience similar to other new CAO products

  • Collaborating with the communications and education team to create engaging copy for users that reflected the goal to gamify the product

Results

The CAO Director Training dashboard launched successfully without any major setbacks after 4 months of intensive development. This project represents a significant collaboration between the CRM development team, the UX team, and business stakeholders.

Through a series of workshops and meetings, we identified key requirements, developed a progressive design strategy, and established a structured approach for obtaining user feedback. This ensures that we continuously refine the product based on user needs.

Based on internal user testing, the product aligns with the CAO UI library, is visually engaging, and provides comprehensive guidance on how users can effectively navigate the LMS.
